Marg Delahunty’s debut on 22 Minutes (CBC) marked the launch of a cultural icon who would stand up to the nations most powerful and speak the words the rest of us wish could be said but never had a platform to get out.

Dakey Dunn first debuted in the Codco days, but became a household name as a regular correspondent on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. One of Dakey Dunn’s more memorable moments featured the character reciting one of Margaret Atwood’s popular poems to her over and over at a public book signing.

Marg Delahunty sometimes would trade in her plastic sword for plastic guns. Whatever gets the job done.
